Year 11 pupils at the University School are celebrating their GCSE results today, marking the culmination of five years of hard work, commitment, and personal growth.
Their results reflect not only pupils’ academic achievements, but also the great character they have demonstrated throughout their time at the School. From curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, to resilience, thoughtfulness, and kindness our pupils have consistently supported one another, striving to achieve their personal best.
There was a wonderful atmosphere of excitement and pride as pupils gathered this morning to open their results.
Principal, Mr Colin Townsend congratulated all pupils on their achievements: “I hold admiration for each of our 148 pupils and those celebrating elsewhere, for their personal growth and character development, and for their academic awards achieved today. We aim always to support each young person to achieve individual excellence and a purposeful and aspirational onward pathway – be that to A level or further study, an apprenticeship, or work. As an all-ability School, where that means gaining top grades we look to that – with 31 pupils attaining at least five passes at grade 7 or higher, and 22% of all subject entries awarded at a standard of grade 7 or higher. I thank our parents, carers, and families for their crucial partnership with the School and the School’s staff for their great care for our learners, alongside their subject expertise. Optimism, self-belief, determination, and a balanced work ethic are a powerful mix towards success – now and moving forward.”
We warmly congratulate all our pupils on their achievements and wish them every success in their next steps, whether they continue their education and development with us at UoBS Sixth Form or pursue opportunities elsewhere. We are proud of them and look forward to seeing all that they go on to achieve.
