Financial Support towards your Sixth Form studies
The University of Birmingham School 16-19 Bursary Fund is designed to help students overcome financial barriers to participation and ensure that all young people can fully engage with their Sixth Form studies, regardless of their personal circumstances. [Student Gu…(2026-27) | PDF]
We offer two types of bursary support:
- Discretionary Bursaries for students from lower-income households. [Student Gu…(2026-27) | PDF]
- Bursaries for Defined Vulnerable Groups, including young people in care, care leavers, and certain students receiving benefits in their own right. [Student Gu…(2026-27) | PDF]
Eligible students may receive support towards a range of study-related costs, including:
- Travel to and from school
- School meals
- Educational resources and equipment
- IT equipment and software
- Sixth Form dress code items
Support is provided based on individual need and is intended to help students participate fully in education and make the most of the opportunities available to them during their Sixth Form studies.
