Examinations & Assessments
07 April 2022
Dear Parent(s) and Carer(s),
This email is to inform you that the final GCSE French speaking exams will be taking place on Tuesday 10 May & Wednesday 11 May 2022 (exact appointment times will follow).
The GCSE German speaking exams will take place on Thursday 05 May.
The exams are worth 25% of the final grade and will consist of three sections:
- Role play (15 marks).
- Photo card (15 marks).
- General conversation (30 marks).
Pupils should be practising the general conversation speaking answers that they have prepared in their speaking booklet. An electronic copy of this booklet has been issued on class charts for the Easter break for reference.
Flashcards are an ideal way to practise these questions and answers aloud, in short and regular learning slots of 10 minutes. Pupils can also ask someone to test them and help with recalling answers.
Example role play and photo cards are available in the French revision folder on Microsoft Teams, on the AQA website (under Assessment Resources – Component – Paper 2), and on the end topic ‘test and revise’ pages of the GCSE French/German textbook.
