University of Birmingham School pupil Maddie Down finished eighth in the T38 100m final and sixth in the T38 long jump final at the Paralympic Games in Paris, just two weeks after receiving her GCSE results.
Maddie has worked incredibly hard to manage her academic and sporting commitments and will return to the University of Birmingham School Sixth Form to begin her A levels after the Games.
Colin Townsend, Principal of University of Birmingham School commented:
“All at the School are incredibly proud of Maddie’s GCSE and sporting achievements. Maddie has shown great determination, skill and humility and embodies the character virtues that we are proud to instil here at the School. We look forward to welcoming her back to Sixth Form.”
