UoB School awarded Secondary School of the Year

We are delighted to be this year’s recipient of the ‘Secondary School of the Year’ Award at the Midlands Education Awards Event 2024. This recognition is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment of our entire School community, including pupils, students, staff, parents and carers, and governors.

The Education Awards celebrates outstanding contributors in the education sector – organisations, individuals, and local communities – across the country.

Our journey to this achievement has been driven by a shared vision of excellence in education, character virtues, and a supportive environment that fosters growth and development. Our pupils and students consistently demonstrate strong academic performance, creativity, and resilience, whilst our staff go above and beyond to provide an engaging and inclusive learning experience. The collaborative efforts of our parents and carers are also invaluable, offering steadfast support and encouragement that empowers our pupils and students to reach their full potential.

On behalf of all the School, the Principal, Colin Townsend, expressed gratitude for this Award. “Being recognised as Secondary School of the Year underscores our daily aims and shared hard work. We want our children to be capable in taking their next steps in life, academically and personally; to be confident in themselves; and to be caring of others and their community. I am so pleased for everyone.”

As we celebrate this Award, we are inspired to continue our pursuit of excellence. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has contributed to making our School a beacon of educational success. Together, we will continue to nurture young minds and prepare them for a bright and promising future.
