The 16 to 19 Tuition Fund
The 16 to 19 Tuition Fund: Academic Year 2021 – 2022
The purpose of this statement is to set out how University of Birmingham School will utilise the 16-19 Tuition Fund in 2021-22. The fund is allocated to mitigate the impact on learning and achievement arising from Covid-19.
The funding will be used to support Sixth Form students across all subjects in the School. Eligible students have been prioritised based on the published DfE criteria, including those who:
- Have not yet achieved a grade 4 in English and/or Mathematics.
- Have achieved a grade 4 or above in English and/or Mathematics and are from the 27% most economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
The 16-19 tuition fund will be used to provide direct tuition which is additional to already planned programmes of study for 2021-22. Tuition will be delivered one-to-one and in small groups of up to five students.
The main focus is on providing support for disadvantaged students who have been identified by internal data as being the furthest behind expected progress in specific subjects. Priority will be given to those disadvantaged students with SEND or High Needs.
