Our A level Design Engineering course is a fantastic choice for students looking to expand and apply their scientific and mathematical knowledge, whilst also developing practical skills and in-depth understanding of what Engineering has to offer.
When you study Design Engineering at UoBS you will learn practical and technical skills in our state of the art engineering workshop & classrooms, which is equipped with industry standard technology that will help you gain basic hand skills, milling, turning, laser cutting & 3D printing experience.
Our expert staff will also introduce you to aspects of robotics, simulation, modelling, electronics, systems & control, product engineering, computer-aided design (CAD) and 3D modelling, using software such as Matlab, Simulink , Solidworks & Google SketchUp Pro. This will be utilised when you undertake your own iterative design project (which is worth 50% of your overall grade).
These practical, technical and software skills are highly sought after by universities and employers alike.
