PGDipEd secondary programmes at the University of Birmingham include a range of opportunities to engage with the work of the UTS.
For example, trainee teachers in history may find themselves preparing and then running tutorials at the School for our large cohort of A level history students on the Russian revolution; physics trainees might visit for a series of micro-teaching experiences, benefiting from the expertise of both our specialist teachers and their university tutors in planning and reviewing teaching; geography trainees may have the chance to develop fieldwork skills, accompanying A level geographers on their spring term trip to a residential outdoor centre.
ITE tutors are linked with their counterparts in the UoB School, assuring a connection between academic teaching in the Department of Teacher Education. Please find more information about ITE programmes here: http://www.birmingham.ac.uk/schools/education/teacher-education/index.aspx
